Cockpit V6pro – More Web. More Dynamics. More Power.
Latest release of Cubeware’s BI front end offers more flexibility and better global support – Complete Web interoperability, advanced filters and continuous Unicode support
Cubeware GmbH, a specialist for Business Intelligence (BI) and Performance Management software, presented its second release of Cockpit V6pro with multiple enhanced features. The version, which has been available since February 2009, now offers complete Web interoperability and refined filtering features. A further highlight is the full Unicode support, which allows users to unite and process report data, text and terms in any language – provided that the underlying databases also support Unicode. Advanced export functions and support of the authentification service Kerberos for better user administration and registration round out the other main additions.
“Release 2 offers Cubeware Cockpit V6pro users even more functionality for easy standard and ad hoc analyses as well as planning, reporting and dashboarding,” explains Hermann Hebben, Managing Director at Cubeware. “Staying true to our roots, we have continued to develop our product portfolio in line with our customers’ requirements. Only then can we truly meet their changing, specialized needs – on national and international levels – both now and in the future.”
Comfortable analysis and comprehensive filters
Cubeware Cockpit V6pro’s latest release now supports the full functionality of two features: Web support and filters. Web users, for example, can now use flexible report designs – including component management, report layout window, wizards for generating reports and components as well as a client rule editor – that were previously only available in the Windows edition. In addition, users can access and modify reports that were created in the Web in their Windows client and vice versa. This full interoperability supports all standard Web browsers including Internet Explorer 7, Opera, Firefox and Safari for Windows as well as all types of Web servers. This highly responsive interface, which is virtually identical to that in Windows environments, is based on Ajax technology from the world of Web 2.0.
Other advanced features include defining parameters and combining filters for even more dynamic and sophisticated reporting. In addition to defining client rules for exporting filter properties, the new version also provides tools to work with report environments more easily. In addition, customers can see which reports are used in a given database connection or cube. This usage list can then be used for database connections, cubes, container elements, and client rules. In addition, users can analyze the objects of different report environments.
Unicode reporting without language barriers
In today’s age of globalization, companies need to do more than simply combine their data from the different source systems throughout their organization. They also need to store that data in a structured manner so that they can later use it for analysis. Through Cubeware Cockpit V6pro’s full Unicode support, they can now easily integrate their data in any language and process it for analysis, planning, reporting and dashboarding. Companies, therefore, now have a BI infrastructure that they can deploy worldwide.
